236[A,B,AB] (Notes)
236A (A Notes)
Placement of notes are fixed, and in final placement they can be popped independently of each-other
This move is used in a lot of safejump combos to set up setplay
Has a large initial hitbox that can keep opponents from running into your space
Works as an anti-air in a pinch, but be sure not to adopt this as your go-to anti-air
16 frames of startup, -10 on block
236B (B Notes) / 236AB (SB Notes)
Holding the B button extends note travel distance and affects note placement (Placement is the same for both moves depending on how long you hold)
NOTE: You do not necessarily have to hold B to change note placement, it just needs to be read as 'pressed' when the check is made, meaning that if you let go when you put out notes and hold B when the first oscilation is about to finish, the check will be satisfied and the notes will be placed diagonally.
B version has a larger hitbox than A version in the horizontal direction and is +2 on block, making this a good tool for midscreen setplay
SB version has the hitbox of A version, but it's 4 frames faster and +2 on block, making it a good tool for extending pressure in the corner
When using this in midscreen setplay combos, your opponent can try to reversal or roll on wakeup, but you can bait to punish these options.
