Burst Baits

Due to the changes with D shield (214D), this move is much more viable for baiting bursts. This allows for meterless burst baits, which can be acted out of sooner than if the burst was blocked.

This being said, the move is also a risky one, because if you guess wrong, you're opened up for a free punish. It is generally safer to OMC or jump cancel block a burst than to opt for D shield. These combos will use D shield to bait bursts, but do not take this as your only option for baiting bursts. If you opt for a D shield burst bait, you have to accept the risk of guessing wrong and getting punished. None of the combos here require a D shield bait.

If you want a sideswitch as seen in the video, you will walk slightly forward after your burst bait. If not, walk slightly back.
